'My Own Two Hands' Benefit for the Americana Project and the Sisters School District

Here's a gig I'm really excited about.  I've been invited to perform over in Sisters, Oregon at the 'My Own Two Hands' benefit for the Americana Project and the Sisters School District.  The Americana Project was developed to inspire the creativity of young people, and to demonstrate the cultural and historical significance of American roots music and cultural expression. There'll be an art walk, and music at venues all over town.  I'm not exactly sure where they'll put me yet, but you'll find me, and it's gonna be a blast.  Also, there will be an art auction on April 10. If you're in central Oregon on this weekend, come stroll on by and hear some great music from a bunch of different artists, and support a great cause!

Again, another great opportunity for me. Artichoke Music is 'the' venue for folk singer/songwriters in Portland, and I'm tremendously honored to be invited to play a set during their 'Friday Night Coffee House' series (although there will be beer and wine available at the bar most certainly). This time I'll be performing with my good buddy, singer/songwriter Dan Weber.  Dan has won numerous songwriting awards locally, most recently Dan was a regional West Coast Songwriters regional finalist in 2009.  And he's got some great yarns.  The Sellwood is a really fun joint, so come on by.  Also, we may get to start earlier, say 7:30 pm if they allow us to.  I'll give everyone a heads up when I find out.

I'm very excited to be invited to play a short set along with 11 other musicians for this benefit for Haiti, at the Great Hall restaurant in downtown Portland. It's being billed as 'Lean On Me...A Musical Benefit for Haiti' with all proceeds going to Mercy Corp/Haiti Relief.  There will be some fabulous players involved in this, including Chris Kokesh (of Misty River), blues great Joe McMurrian, and singer-songwriter Beth Wood (winner of prestigious songwriting competitions at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, and the Sisters Folk Festival in Oregon).  This is a new venue for me, but I hear the food is great.  Come on out and support a great cause, and enjoy a great night of music.  Needless to say, I'm tremendously flattered to be invited to play on this special evening.
