I’ll be playing with the fabulous Patrick Lombardi over at the newly created café at The Northwest Hostel down on about NW 18th and Glisan. This is the same place during the summer that has music Tuesday nights in the “Secret Garden” courtyard. I’ve played the Secret Garden many times and always loved it. Can’t wait to check out their new café. There’s food and beer available per usual. The café is also “kid friendly” so feel free to bring’ em.

This is a great opportunity for me to be a part of an exciting 2 day fundraiser and celebration of music and arts in the Sisters, Oregon community. There's a city wide art stroll, a parade and mucho reasons to party. Also, I get to play guitar and sing with my good buddy Willie Carmichael. I did this a couple years ago and had an amazing time. Willie is a fabulous player, singer and songwriter, and previous winner of the Dave Carter Memorial songwriting contest. Come by and hang with us for a bit!

Well, here it is...it's the finals. Back in January I won the monthly contest for 'Best Performing Songwriter' and in February won the monthly contest for 'Best Song'. Thus, I've made the finals in both categories. Thus, I'll play a set in each of the categories. This is sure to be a well attended event, so if ya can make it, I'd plan to arrive early. It starts a 6pm, but my guess is that it'll be full by 5:30pm, but it's also sure to be a very fun night. I hear the people from the online magazine 'Oregon Music News' will be videoing and podcasting, or some such. Winner of the 'Best Song' category gets to move on to the Bay Area (Berkeley, CA) to compete there. Winner of 'Best Performing Songwriter' will get a gig at the Buffalo Gap, and later during the summer at one of the local festivals. It never hurts to have a few of 'my people' there, so if ya can, it'd be great to see ya.
